AboutPeopleEva Jermutus
Eva Jermutus

Eva is a PhD student, working with the Human Behaviour Change Project (HBCP) which aims to use AI methods to advance behavioural science research. She is interested in the relationship between humans and AI and aspects influencing their interaction. In particular, she is interested in users’ expectations of and trust in AI-driven systems such as the HBCP Knowledge System.

She recently conducted a systematic review on influences on trust in healthcare AI and is currently working on a discourse analysis that will inform future experimental work. The discourse analysis is concerned with the public discourse surrounding AI, i.e. how it is portrayed in the media and how that media coverage affects people’s perceptions and understandings, and by extension, their trust in AI.

Previously, Eva received a MA (Hons) in Psychology & Management at the University of St Andrews in 2017 and an MSc in Economic Psychology at Tilburg University in 2018. She then worked in programmatic advertising before joining UCL in 2019.
