EPPI-Reviewer Coding is a new web-based interface for EPPI-Reviewer. It broadly replicates the functionalities available in the Coding-Only interface of EPPI-Reviewer 4.
Unlike EPPI-Reviewer 4, this interface is based on HTML5 technologies and so is compatible with most modern web-browsers, including Smart Phones and Tablets.
The list of supported browsers is: Edge, Safari (including iPhones and iPads), Firefox (including Android devices), Chrome (including Android devices), Opera, and more.
Functionalities:
The Coding Only application allows users to apply codes to items.
Like the coding only application, it only provides access to items that have been explicitly assigned to the current user via Work Allocations. Unlike the coding only interface, the Coding app has also access to the Priority Screening list, meaning that you can use machine learning to prioritise the citations as you screen them.
The following functionalities are not implemented yet: the app cannot apply codes to PDFs and does yet support the entry of numeric outcomes data.
This application is a Beta release.
Behind the scenes, the application shares a lot of source code with EPPI-Reviewer 4. This means that it behaves pretty much in the same way as the Silverlight version. However, all of the technologies used to produce the visible interface are new to our team. As a result, we would appreciate all feedback, comments and suggestions.
