As long as the search results that you wish to import are in some type of tagged format you should be able to import them into EPPI-Reviewer. Tagged means that each piece of information in the file should be indentified by some type of prefix or tag at the beginning of each line. For example, the author information might be identified by a tag such as 'Author' or 'AU: '.  Most external databases will allow you to save your search results in some type of tagged format.

There are some import filters in EPPI-Reviewer but the RIS EXPORT utility (that you can find on the 'EPPI-Reviewer 4 gateway') will give you access to hundreds of import filters. You can find a video on how to use the RIS EXPORT utility on our YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/eppireviewer4). The RIS EXPORT utilitiy will take your search result and change it to an RIS formatted file that can be imported directly into EPPI-Reviewer.

If you find a tagged file that you cannot import (after trying the RIS EXPORT utility) you can email the file to us at eppisupport@ioe.ac.uk and we can have a look at it. It is possible the file is in a format that we do not have a filter for and in that case we would want to create one.
