Hi,

I've just started using EPPI-Reviewer today (in Mozilla Firefox) and have thus far been able to successfully import two searches from different databases (Medlne and Embase). However I am trying to now import a search from the Cochrane CENTRAL database (which I accessed via Ovid like the other two databases), but an error is appearing when I attempt to upload the RIS file of references. The error message is very long and unfortunately I'm not able to copy and paste it but the first line reads:

DataPortal.Update failed (System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientException (0x18131904 TImeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

I've tried to upload a screenshot which shows the remainder of the message:

I've tried logging out and in again of EPPI-Reviewer, as well as re-downloading the RIS file again from Ovid in case of a glitch with the original file, but I am still getting the same error message.

It'd be great if you can let me know what I can do to resolve this. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need any more information.

EDITED to add: I have just tried to import a different RIS file from another database (PsycINFO) and I am getting the same error message. In case this is useful information, the CENTRAL database RIS file has 36 references, and the PsycINFO one has 201.

Hello Rosemary,

If you could email the files that you are trying to import and are giving you the error message to eppisupport@ioe.ac.uk we can have a look at them.

Sometimes the files may need a bit of editing or perhaps the filter chosen wasn't the best match for the file. We can determine what the issue is by having a look at the file.

Best regards,

Jeff
