Just a suggestion. This filter doesn’t seem to capture the trial-id, e.g. <TrialID>EUCTR2007-001784-30-FR</TrialID>. It would be useful if this could not only be captured but also if it could be put in as the author, to conform with current practice in Cochrane systematic reviews.

Dear Graham,

thanks for letting us know, it is certainly useful for us to learn about this kind of need. I am about to review how EPPI-Reviewer is handling the various ID numbers that are floating around: ISBN, ISSN, DOI, PMID and the like. Our current approach can certainly be improved, and your request appeared exactly at the right time. However, I don't expect we'll import the TrialID in the authors field: this may be confusing to non Cochrane users and will certainly confuse the way EPPI-Reviewer handles authors internally.

It's more likely that we'll end up having one or more additional fields to accommodate various standard IDs in dedicated fields. Please note that this work is complex: we'll need to change how information is imported, stored, displayed and edited, meaning that it won't happen overnight. More likely, if all goes well, we'll be able to publish the new features in a month or two.

In all cases, sorry for not being able to accommodate your needs in a faster way, but thanks again for your suggestion, we do appreciate!

Best wishes,

Sergio

Thanks. If it is included in a dedicated field, it should be easy to move it to wherever we want after the records have been imported into our bibliographic software (in our case, EndNote).
Graham
