as far as I can tell, EPPI-Reviewer does not have any problem with Word files, I've just tested it and it works for classic Word files (extension .doc) as well as Word 2007-2010 files (extension .docx).

The only problem I was able to create was when trying to upload a document while it is open in Word. In this case, the "Upload document" window shows the "Selected File" with a size of 0 and a small yellow alert sign, if you move the mouse pointer over the alert sign a tooltip will appear stating that "The process cannot access the file 'file.doc' because it is being used by another process". Trying to upload such 'locked' files will produce an 'upload' window with a progress bar that does not progress at all. Only solution possible is to close the file in Word and try again - this works perfectly at my end.

Please do let us know if this does not apply to your case, it may well be that you are experiencing a different problem.
