Hi there,

Alongside my colleague I'm currently undertaking a consistency check re our screening criteria. I have setup a comparison between myself and my colleague and while I have coded 719 sources, the 'Comparison statistics' is showing that I have coded 0 (see: https://ibb.co/jw72t93).

I might be jumping the gun a bit, but I was wondering if I had potentially missed out a step which would mean the comparison has not been setup properly? I have made sure to change the code set to 'comparison' rather than 'normal'. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Dear Andrew,

The statistics you are seeing (showing 0) reflect the status of your review when the comparison was created.

We have created another comparison today within your review, showing 219 items completed by you (i.e. 925 started - 713 remaining or yet to be completed). You will see this under the Collaborate tab when you open the review again.

NOTE: If you switch to Comparison Mode after you have started coding, the items you have already coded (or screened) will be shown as already completed. (As only one person was coding them, as soon as they enter a value the item is marked as complete with respect to that codeset. Furthermore, this means that your co-reviewers or collaborators will not be able to complete their coding (as the item is already marked as complete).

To rectify this issue (whereby your co-reviewer cannot complete her coding), you can simply change the status of your completed items and "uncomplete" them again. (The completion status of an item is distinct from its coding record; the values you have already entered will not be lost.) Your colleague will then be able to enter her coding for these items and then you can both work through them - choosing one answer over another when there is a disagreement to reconcile i.e. when you have chosen different answers. Then the items will be correctly marked as completed and all your stats will tally.

The Review Statistics tab in the right-hand pane of the window allows you to view how many items are complete or incomplete (by person, codeset, or in total). It also allows you to change the completion status of items and uncomplete them if they have already been marked as complete (or mark them as complete if they are not yet marked as so).

I have sent you detailed screenshots and further notes on your query via email, but do let us know if you need any further information or assistance (EPPISupport@ucl.ac.uk).

Kind regards,

EPPI Support
