If you wanted to compare change between pre and post-test for two groups, and the change isn’t directly reported in the paper, the calculation would have to be done elsewhere first and the change scores and standard deviation of change for both groups inputted to create the comparison. But most EPPI-Reviewer users opt to calculate SMDs based on post-test scores rather than change in scores, as the standard deviation of the change is not frequently reported (and because SMDs based on change and SMDs based on post-test can’t be inputted into the same model).
