Hi,

Apologies if this question has been covered before (checked the manual and forum but couldn't see answer).

I am currently reviewing about 350 full text papers and am trying to decide how to organise them. The papers are coming in over the next 2 weeks from different sources. Ideally I'd like to upload the files to my Eppi search rather than using a separate filing system.

Is there a way of marking on the search once a paper has been uploaded, so I can qucikly see from my search which are still outstnading. I've managed to upload the files but it's not clear until you go into that article that the pdf is there. Have looked to see if there's acustom user tab that can be added but couldn't find a work around.

Thanks in advnace

Gareth

Hello Gareth,

My apologies for the slow reply. The best way to keep track of document retrieval is to create a retrieval codeset. It could have a number of codes such as 'In file', 'Not in file', 'On request', 'Not available', etc. You would start out by assigning the 'Not in file' code to all of the items that you will want to retrieve. As you retrieve documents and upload them you would then unselect the 'Not in file' code and select the 'In file' code (or one of the other codes depending on the items circumstance). If you run a frequency report on that codeset you can immediately see what items have documents (or don't and their status).

You can also run a search in the 'Search' tab for items with at least one document uploaded. You could use this function to update the retrieval codeset retrospectively if you have already started document retrieval.

You can also find an example of a retrieval codeset in the example review that was created under your name when you created your user account.

Best regards,

Jeff
