Hello

I've managed to import RIS files from Ovid databases, but can't find the RIS filter to export directly from Web of Science. Having read through the other threads in this forum, I have tried exporting from Web of Science to Endnote, and then exporting from Endnote using the RefMan (RIS) Export Output Style. This gives me a txt file yet I seem unable to import the txt file (presumably RIS-formatted) into EPPI-Reviewer.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hello Gemma, If your output style is set to 'RefMan (RIS) Export' when you export your items from EndNote you should be able to import those items directly into EPPI-Reviewer using the RIS filter. The start tag in an RIS formatted reference is 'TY - ' and the end tag is 'ER - '. Are you seeing this in your file? If you wish you can email me your exported file (eppisupport@ioe.ac.uk) and I can have a look at it to see if there is anything unusual about it. Best regards, Jeff

Thanks for the confirmation that my approach should work. I persisted and on the fourth attempt it uploaded successfully. I can only think that I wasn't being patient enough to allow sufficient time for it to read the file!
