Hi, I am trying to upload a personal document (transcript) from my computer's harddrive, onto Eppi Reviewer and am struggling to do this. I have read the manual (p15-16). My main issue is that when I follow these instructions and have created my new review etc although I can see the 'upload' button - I cannot press it. I am curious as to whether specific information needs to be entered in the fields about the document (though I did try this too) or whether there is some other issue.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Fiona,

If you have created a reference and saved it, the Upload button should be active. When you say you cannot press it, do you mean it is greyed out (and can't be pressed) or do you mean you can press it but nothing happens?

If your account had expired and you had read-only access the Upload button would be greyed out but I just checked your account and it is still valid.

Does this happen with all of your references or just a particular one? If you let me know the review name and item name I can have a further look at it for you.

Best regards,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Yes I mean it is light grey and I can't press it. I have once managed to upload a document (in Test Review) but before and after that I have been unable to upload a reference.

For example, in Test 3, there is a document called Hot Flushes. I have entered details but am unable to upload it. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Regards

Fiona

Hello Fiona,

I just had a look at your Test 3 review and it appears that you have been able to upload a .doc file to the Hot Flushes item.

Can I assume you have been able to sort this out on your own.

Best regards,

Jeff

Yes in Test 3 I was able to upload, however I am unable to do this is other reviews. For example, if I start a new review, the Upload button remains light grey..Why does it only upload on one review?

Kind regards,

Fiona

Hello Fiona,

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are asking? On which screen are you seeing a greyed out 'Upload' button. Are you talking about the 'Upload' button in the Document details window (where you carry out your coding?). Or are you talking about the 'Upload items' button in the Add source window?

Best regards,

Jeff Brunton

It is greyed out when trying to add a file to the 'New Documents' window specifically

Hi Jeff I have just realised how to make the upload button appear pressable - I did not realise I had to 'save and close' first when the document is created and then go back in to upload the file.

Sorry. Thank you for your help!

Regards

Fiona

Hello Fiona,

I'm assuming you mean the 'Document details' window. This is the window that opens when you click on the 'Create new document record' icon in the Documents tab (the tab that you see when you first enter the program).

When you click on the 'Create new document record' icon the  'Document details' window will open and you should see a blank citation (i.e. no information in the various fields such as Title, Author(s), etc.). You should also see the Upload button greyed out as a reference has not yet been created.

The first thing you need to do is to enter details into the reference (putting in things such as the Title and Author). Once you have filled in as much of the reference as possible you should then click on 'Save'. Once the reference is saved the Upload button should then become enabled. At this point you should be able to upload a full-text document.

Would you be able to try this for me and let me know how you get on.

Best regards,

Jeff
