how many records can EPPI reviewer cope with? I have 37000 records in my review, and want to use a software that will not crash with that amount of records! thanks

Dear Jacqualyn,

We have successfully run EPPI Reviewer 4 with around 1,000,000 records in a single review, and it should cope with numbers up to this level... (Beyond this, the potential number of duplicate items in a large review, especially one that imports references from multiple sources, can become a limiting factor - simply because of the way the program displays duplicate groups (where the same reference has been imported twice). It can become difficult to display, and thus work with, more than 50,000 duplicate groups.)

You may want to consider your codesets for data extraction, and how many of them you will have / how many levels deep they are (i.e. codesets with multiple levels of child codes)... I have found this can be more of a constraining factor with respect to running the software. Very long lists of "nested" codesets can mean running complex reports within the software becomes quite a resource-intensive process...

Just to summarise - you should be fine using EPPI Reviewer 4 with tens of thousands of records, but do let us know if you require any further information or assistance. (We also have a support email address which you can contact us on - EPPISupport@UCL.ac.uk.)

Kind regards,

Zak Ghouze
