Importing from Cochrane - only .txt files available

Hi there,

I'm trying to import my search results from Cochrane Library (via Wiley), but the only file format option that Cochrane provides is the .txt file. Is there a workaround that would let me convert this into the RIS file in order to upload the file onto Eppi Reviewer?

Hi,

You can export from Cochrane / Wiley, and save the file as a normal text file.

You will then be able to convert the file to RIS format using our RIS Export utility, available at https://eppi.ioe.ac.uk/cms/Default.aspx?tabid=2934.

(I've attached some screenshots showing the settings you will need to use to describe the Cochrane / Wiley format, and an example output. To sum up, the start tag should be ID:. and the end tag should be US:.)

Once you have exported the references to a RIS file, you should be able to import this in to EPPI Reviewer using the standard import function, available from along the top row of icons.
