Hi EPPI-Reviewer Forum,
I am a relatively new user of EPPI-Reviewer and am in the process of exporting/importing files from different electronic databases for a shared review. My PubMed files imported perfectly. When I tried to import from Web of Science and PsycInfo, however, the Month and Year were "0" for about one-third of the entries. After many hours of troubleshooting I was able to work around this by exporting as "Other Reference Software" from Web of Science and PsycInfo and using the RIS Export function in EPPI-Reviewer to convert this into an RIS file. This RIS file imported just fine and the dates now show normally.
I am now trying to upload an RIS file that I exported from BusinessSource, and again am having the issue where about one-third of the Month and Year fields are showing as "0". I tried to upload this RIS file and "re-export" the RIS through the RIS Export function in EPPI-Reviewer, but the dates are still missing. I also tried exporting different file types from EBSCO and running them through the RIS Export function in EPPI-Reviewer, but none of the available filters seemed to be the right match, and none came out formatted correctly. I wonder if this is actually an issue with the BusinessSource exports, but am still troubleshooting. Has anyone had luck importing BusinessSource Complete files? I am working on a Mac and the browser I am using is Firefox.
Thanks,
Melissa
Edited to provide update: I exported the BusinessSource files as general reference files (as opposed to RIS) and, after uploading to the RIS Export page, fiddling with the Source Tag (PD-.) and filters (tried Tagged and Tagged 2), and explorting as an RIS file, was able to get the dates to appear when I view the file in EPPI-Reviewer. The formatting is still a bit garbled, but I decided it was good enough to try uploading. Unfortunately the upload errored out with a message beginning with "DataPortal.Update failed."
