 Hi there,

I'm trying to import 1000 refs from Endnote, and I applied the RIS export filter from Endnote. When I try to upload it on to EPPI-Reviewer, the preview list is there, but an error message saying that I may have too many refs pops up when I click 'Upload'.

So, I broke down my ref list into 461 citations, but now the following error message pops up when I hit 'Upload':

[HttpWebRequest_WebException_RemoteServer]

Arguments: NotFound

Debugging resource strings are unavailable. Often the key and arguments provide sufficient information to diagnose the problem. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=106663&Version=5.1.20513.0&File=System.Windows. dll&Key=HttpWebRequest_WebException_RemoteServer

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Benedict Darren

Hello Benedict,

You will be please to hear that we are presently adding functionality that will allow users to upload much larger files. We hope to have that available soon.

As for your particular issue, I'm not sure what may have occurred. Were you able to import those files in the end. I had a quick look at your review and can see two files that are 450 and 550 items in size (totalling 1000 items).

If you are still unable to import your file you can send it to me at eppisupport@ioe.ac.uk and I can have a look at it.

Best regards,

Jeff

 Hi Jeff,

The problem was fixed when I logged off my account and logged back in a few hours later. Thanks for your help though!

Cheers,

Benedict

I also am having trouble importing RIS files (80 sources). I am new to ePPI Reviewer 4 so I may be doing something wrong but...

When I go to the Import References page and Read Files I can select a RIS file but when I open it, the status wheel next to Upload Items spins indefinitely, nothing happens (no sources are loaded) and the Upload Items button is disabled.

I am using Safari 7.0.6 with Mac OS X 10.9.4.

Hello John,

This sounds like your problem might be related to how Safari is set up on your computer. Recent security updates for Safari now have a default setting of running Silverlight in 'Sandbox' mode. This mode 'protects' the user by restricting plugins such as Silverllight from doing certain things such as allowing it access to your file system (so you can access your files). You can adjust this setting in Safari's Preferences to take Silverlight out of Sandbox mode.

If you go to Safari 'preferences', 'Security' and click on 'Manage Website Settings' you can then select Silverlight and tell it to 'Allow' Silverlight to run in, what they are calling, unsafe mode. In the past Silverlight was allowed, by default, to run in this mode but at some point Apple changed this setting. Making this change should allow you to upload your RIS files (you will need to restart Safari after making this change).

You could check if this is the issue by trying to upload the file using EPPI-Reviewer in Firefox. If it works in Firefox the problem is most likely the 'Sandbox' issue. In that case following the instructions about should allow you to upload your file in Safari.

Could you try that and let us know if that sorts out the problem.

Best regards,

Jeff

 Jeff,

I put Safari into "Allow" mode and that solved my issues.

Thank you so much for your help.
