If you have duplicate items and one of the items already has codes assigned to it, it would make more sense to mark the un-coded item as a duplicate of the coded item rather than code both items (if I understand correctly what you are asking). Once the item is marked as a duplicate you only need to work with the master item.

Assuming you have already run the duplicate checking functions in your review there are a couple of ways that you might proceed to mark an item as a duplicate of another. If the coded item is already in a duplicate group you could manually add the un-coded item to that group and mark it as a duplicate. If neither item are in a duplicate group you could manually create a duplicate group, add both items to the group and mark the coded item as the master and the un-coded item as the duplicate. This would be done in the 'Manage duplicate groups' window.
