Hello,


Can you please help with the following:

1. A search doesn't locate items with a certain code ('ethical issues') - just returns a '0'. Yet when I go to delete the code, I get a warning message saying 1 item is coded, which indeed it is (as can be seen when I 'go' to the article in question). Why isn't it showing up in my search either for 'included' or 'excluded'?

2. Similarly, I can't see results for either frequencies or reports for documents coded with 'Included articles' - just get a blank, despite the fact this code has completed child codes.

Hi Tim,

this happens when an item's coding is not complete. A not-completed coding will not show in searches and reports, because it is supposed to be part of a double (blind) coding exercise. If that is not the case, then it is possible to complete all missing codes in a few clicks via the "review statistics" tab (right column).

I know all this might be a little confusing, so I'd suggest to read the relevant sections from the user manual: "Coding complete vs. coding not complete" and "Single vs. Multiple data entry (double coding)". As always, if you think the manual does not explain the matter clearly, please let us know.
