Hi,

I assume I have duplicated, overlapping groups as 2 groups in my dataset have greyed out group members. When I go the the Manual/Advanced tab and use the ‘find related groups’ function, I can bring up a list of duplicate items contained in one group. However, the Eppi-Reviewer manual states, "Among the related list of overlapping groups, there should be one group that contains all of the items found in the other related groups." I can only see 1 group. Maybe I have already successfully deleted the other group? If so, why are there still greyed out group members and why won't the "checked" box allow a check mark? Thanks, Daphne

Hi Daphne,

I'm assuming you are referring to your review ID #20786, but please let me know if not.

Looking at the 3 "incomplete" duplicate groups, it appears the Campbell (2016) group has a few issues. 2 items (IDs 44421466 & 44453427) have been marked as duplicates of another item (ID 44453426). However, that item 44453426 is itself marked as a being in a duplicate group, with item ID 44485047 as master of that group.

If you select the group and view it using the Manual / Advanced tab in the Manage Duplicate Groups window, you can see the situation more clearly.

What I suggest is deleting this group and creating a new one with (perhaps) item ID 44453426 as master (as this has the most complete information in its reference details) and all the related items as duplicates. (Alternatively, just edit the current group so one item is master (ideally 44453426 as it has most detail), and all the related items are marked as duplicates of it.

It looks like your Schooley (2009) group can't be completed as the secondary item has been marked as deleted i.e. is no longer part of the review, so you can't mark it as a duplicate and mark the group as complete / everything checked...

I'll have to investigate further with the Adjei (2019) group - at first glance, it looks like it just hasn't been marked as completed.

I'll email you a more comprehensive answer with screenshots, so please let us know if you would prefer to send you the message at an address other than the one you registered your EPPI Reviewer account with.

Best wishes,

eppisupport@ucl.ac.uk
