Hello,

My colleague has already performed screening of all 4848 articles on title and abstract. I now want to do the same (for cross comparison). I understand from watching the youtube video I need to change to comparison data entry (we haven't activated this already). I'm just slightly concerned that activating this at this point will delete all her hard work! Am I ok to click this button? Or should I use another method?

Thanks very much

Ellie

Ok I've managed to work this out using the EPPI-R manual. I have changed to comparison data entry and marked all of my colleague's entries as incomplete so I can begin coding myself. The only issue I have now is - I want to be able to produce a list of documents that I have not yet coded so I know which ones to work on, at the moment all documents are showing including the ones I have already coded (I assume because they are still considered 'incomplete'?) could you let me know how to do this?

Thanks!

Ellie

This question was answered by email.

The answer was to create a coding assignment. When you create a coding assignment the program will keep track of what items you have coded and not coded.

Jeff

Hi,

How did you mark all the items as "Incomplete"? I need to do the same, but the only way I have found to do it, is to left click on the green icon, choos Properties and un-check the Coding completed box.

Is there a way to do this as a bulk operation?

Best wishes,

Hege

Dear Hege,

There are buttons to "bulk complete" and "bulk uncomplete" items within EPPI Reviewer 4 in the right-hand pane of the display, under the "Review Statistics" tab.

You can mark items as incomplete per user per codeset, by codeset, or via advanced options covering all coding in a review.

You can also "bulk complete" items in the same way.

This is touched on in the manual around page 56 and before (where you will also find information on Normal vs Comparison data entry i.e. a single user or multiple users working concurrently, and switching between the two modes).

Do let us know if you require any further information or assistance.

Kind regards,

Zak

Dear Zak,

Thanks for your reply. My problem is that there is only a subset of ca 350 items with a certain code that I need to mark as incomplete. Is that possible?

Best wishes,

Hege

Hi,

If you can select those you wish to bulk complete or uncomplete, and then assign them a code to distinguish them from others, you can then use the same method as described previously to bulk complete / uncomplete the items via the assigned distinguishing code. (If they already all have a specific code denoting them, the code should appear in the Review Statistics tab, so you should be able carry out the bulk processing.)

In the example below, I have created a new codeset, with just one child-code for the moment, to denote those items I wish to bulk complete.

I select the items I want to bulk complete, right-click on the new child-code, and assign the itemms this new child-code (to denote them).

I can then set coding as incomplete or complete, as before, using the new codeset.

Note that you can use the advanced Search facility, and add various searches together using Boolean operators, to produce a list of those items you wish to bulk operate on.

Hope that helps, but do let us know if you need further information or examples.

Kind regards,

Zak
