Hello,

We are trying to analyze the coding on our review. We are running into a problem where when running frequencies, crosstabs, etc., the total number of codes/returned is less than expected given our study size of 105.

I've wondered if the problem is related to two issues:

1. We are set to multiple coding. If users have not selected 'complete' on their end, will that study/code be returned when running reports?

2. If there are still disagreements on multiple coding, would that run into a similar problem?

Is there a quick solution for this, such as re-setting the project to single-coding? Otherwise, what are the other options or reasons things would not display?

Thanks,

Jake

Hi,

Just to confirm - frequency reports, cross-tab reports, etc. all report back on "completed" coding. Anything not marked as complete will not be reflected in your reports / totals.

(Where multiple coding is used, any disagreements will be seen as "incomplete" coding until the disagreement is resolved and one answer is chosen i.e. until disagreements are worked through and reconciled (or one user's answers are selected to override any disagreements), the associated coding / items will not be reflected in numerical totals / reports.)

There are various options to automatically go through and complete, particularly by using the statistics tab in the right-hand side pane of the EPPI Reviewer screen. (See page 51 onwards of the manual for info on coding status (complete or otherwise), and changing between normal and comparison (single or multiple) data entry. Page 66 onwards has information on completion and reconciliation, page 56 / 57 shows information on the "Review Statistics" tab, and the buttons available within to "bulk complete" items.)

Hope that helps, but do let us know if you need further clarification.

Kind regards,

Zak
