We have finished our first phase of screening which was Title-Abstract screening AND assigning a code for technology for each paper. Before we were all finished I did a practice run of trying to run reports to get the numbers of all coded includes and all coded maybes and the numbers within for each coded technology. I also went simple and listed all items coded with Includes/Maybes. The last of my colleagues has finished their coding allocation but the numbers I am getting for Includes etc are still the same as before she had completed her allocation which does not make any sense. How do I get accurate numbers of what all 3 of us have coded as Includes and maybes?

Also, one of my colleague has completed all her allocation but still a few are coming up as remaining despite her having completed them?

Okay, I think I solved the problem, it appears that my colleagues had not completed their coding, as in made sure it was all recorded as completed. I overrode that and set all coding to completed and now the numbers appear to match more like what I expected.

Hi Rachel,

The "completed" status can be confusing sometimes. Unless something is explicitly set as "complete" it can still show as incomplete, even if a coding choice has been selected. Glad to hear you managed to resolve the problem!

Note that issues can also occur when one reviewer marks something as complete, but the item was actually allocated to someone else for screening / coding. Though the first person has gone through and coded the item and marked it as complete, it will still show as incomplete and count as such in the statistics. It will only truly show as completed once the person that item was assigned to has marked it as such.

Kind regards,

Zak
