Dear ER team.

We are facing the following issue: A bunch of references were allocated for coding, neverless, when the coder codes the item, this continues to appear in the remaining items list. For instance, while around 200 items were coded, the number of remaining items remains the same.

What is going worng and how is this affecting our coding?

Many thanks!

Dafni

Hello Dafni,

In most cases the reason an item will not come off of a person's 'remaining' list is that the item has already been coded and 'completed' by a different reviewer. Once an item's coding is marked as 'complete' (with respect to a particular coding tool) any subsequent coding (by any reviewer) becomes part of the 'completed' coding rather than the person who just added the codes. The system will not remove the item from the subsequent coder's 'remaining' list because the coding now belongs to the person that completed the coding.

If you give me an example in your review I can explain the exact details of what you are seeing.

Best regards,

Jeff

Many thanks Jeff!

I'm not quite sure I understand yet, mainly cause I don't see how the items could have been already coded by anoterh coder.

Please find details on email sent.

Best,

Dafni

Just to close this thread, the problem turned out to be a mismatch between the coding tool used in the coding assignment and the tool that was used while coding (thus explaining why the number of 'remaining' items didn't go down)

Best regards,

Jeff
