Hi there, Our review is set up for multiple coding, and after an initial test of 100 papers allocated to two people for double coding we were able to compare and reconcile differences no problem. After than, one user coded the rest of the ~4000 titles and abstract but coded some for second opinion. This user did not allocate these ~4000 titles to themself as an assignment at this point. Later when we wanted a second person to give  their opinion, we allocated this batch to the second user. Despite the second person going through the batch and and adding their coding we are not able to make the comparisons work, and we can't see who has coded what in order to compare. Is this because we didn't allocate the titles to the main coder as an assignment originally? Are you able to allocate them to the first user after the coding has been done? (I have tried to do this but still can't get the comaprison to work and i can't see whos coding is recorded). Any help appreciated. Thank you

Hello Janine,

I had a quick look at your review. I can see a coding assignment for yourself and Samantha for 634 items made up of items from a 'Sam Cheng-Second opinion2' allocation code. Are they the items you want to double screen? Of those 634 items, 9 items have coding marked as 'not complete' so 634 - 9 = 625 have coding marked as 'complete' with respect to the 'Screen on title & abstract' codeset. You have probably noticed that if you look at an item assigned to you from the 634 (actually 629) items that you were seeing Samantha's coding. This is because Samantha's coding has already been marked as 'complete' for 629 of those items (with respect to the 'Screen on title & abstract' codeset)
If you want to double screen and create a comparison for those 634 items then those item's coding will need to be changed to 'not complete' with respect to the 'Screen on title & abstract' codeset. Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to bulk mark a selected group of items as 'not complete' (or 'complete'). This option is on our to-do list but in the meantime you will need to do it manually. Since you need to screen those items you will already be stepping through them so the first thing you do before screening the item is to mark its coding as 'not complete'. You can then screen it and move on to the next item. To mark the coding for an item as 'not complete', when you are in the 'Document details' window, you will need to right click the codeset, untick the 'Coding complete' option and then click 'Save'. I can also see that you have already screened 24 of the 634 items so you will want to mark those items as 'not complete' as well if you want them to be part of your comparison.

If you have any questions about this please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeff
