deleting a source

Hello

I'm facing a technical issue, I tried to permanently delete an uploaded source (EMBASE_2015-08-18_1000-1100) using managed source option but it didn’t allow me to do that.

could you please help me to investigate the problem?

Hello Afnan,

The reason you are unable to permanently delete that source is because one of the items in that source has been marked as the master item in one of your duplicate groups. You can see this if you go into the 'Add/manage sources' window and look at that 'source' in the 'Manager sources' tab.

There isn't an easy way to identify that particular item other than listing the source and stepping through the items in that source to see which item has duplicates assigned to it. I have done that for you and it is item 'Idrees (2014)' (ID# 17997366).

Looking at the list of duplicate groups in the 'Manage duplicate groups' window I can see that the item is in duplicate group ID# 2067253

If you wish to permanently delete that source you will want unmark the item as the master item in that group. Once it is no longer the master item in that group you should be able to permanently delete the source.
