My comparison coder can see my coding and I'm not sure why. 1. I did my coding in a non-sharable review. 2. I shared the review with my comparison coder and checked the "coding only" box. 3. I changed the code set properties from normal to comparison data entry. 4. I allocated references to the comparison coder. 5. The comparison coder can access the review, sees the references allocated to her, AND sees my coding for the code set that I've changed to comparison data entry I'm not sure if I've missed a step or performed the steps out of order. Would you please assist me? Thanks, Bryan

Hello Bryan,

The reason the second reviewer is seeing your coding is that your coding is already marked as 'complete'.

Is it possible that you did your coding while the codeset was set for normal data entry (rather than comparison coding)? If that was the case then your coding was automatically marked as 'complete' at that time. Changing the codeset to 'comparison coding' afterward will not change the coding that has already taken place. It just means that subsequent coding will be treated as comparison coding.

If you look in the 'Review statistics' tab (I'm assuming we are talking about Review ID 6756 and the 'Title and abstract review' codeset since it is set for 'comparison coding') you will see that there are 244 items coded and marked as 'complete' under your name. If you wanted to double code those items you will need to mark those items as 'not complete'. You can mark them as 'not complete' by clicking on the red disc in the row with your name and the 244 items.  Those items will then be accounted for in the 'not complete' table further down in the 'Review statistics' tab. Once you have done that the other reviewer will not see your coding.

Best regards,

Jeff
