Hello,

We have saved searches in CINAHL and exported to Endnote, and then from there to a text file. We have tried importing directly into Eppi with no luck. Neither can we figure out how to make the RIS export function work. In the text file, each article is listed on a separate row and prefixed with its own number; the citations start with the author and end with the page number.

Can you please help?

Thanks,

Tim

Dear Tim,

If your references are in EndNote, then you can easily export them as an RIS text file.

You need to set your output style in EndNote to 'RefMan (RIS) export' (under Edit -> Output styles -> Open Style Manager, select the "RefMan (RIS) export" and close the "EndNote Styles" window). Once you have selected that output style, select the items to export and then click 'Export' (under File), the RIS format will be listed in the readily available styles to use.

The resulting RIS-formatted file can then be imported into EPPI-Reviewer using the RIS import filter.

Best wishes,

Sergio

Hello Crystal,

If the references that you have exported out of EndNote are in RIS format then they should import correctly into EPPI-Reviewer. Perhaps there is an issue with this file you have exported/created.

If you wish, you can email us the file (to eppisupport@ioe.ac.uk) and we can have a look at it.

Best regards,

Jeff
