Many different types of activities with the means to link research and policymaking in education are being used across Europe, but empirical evidence about the extent, process and efficacy of such activity is almost non-existent. The lack of instruments with reliable and valid measures may be one reason for this lack of evidence.
EIPPEE is exploring the possibility of developing a set of indicators which could be used by individuals, organisations and/or countries to self-assess their readiness and capacity for research use. The first step has been to identify whether there are existing appropriate instruments for measuring brokerage activities that can adapted for future use. A number of resources have been collected to support the indicator development process and have been made available for others who are considering research in this area.
