Introduction

This toolkit provides an overview of the evidence for the effectiveness of interventions for violence against women and girls which are relevant to healthcare settings. It includes:

  • interventions to prevent violence;
  • interventions to support victims of violence and improve outcomes; and
  • organisational interventions to improve responses to violence.

The boxes on this page give an overview of the data on effectiveness for each intervention, along with estimates of cost and the quality of the evidence. Each box links to a topic page with more detail on the intervention content, effectiveness and implementation; these pages link to technical reports which provide detailed breakdowns of the evidence.

Further information on the methods used to develop the toolkit can be found here.

This version of the toolkit is based on searches conducted in April 2023.
