Version 4.9.1.1 brings Cochrane authentication and licensing features to EPPI-Reviewer Web. The same features of ER4 also received an update to match the changes made made today on the Cochrane's side.
New Feature
EPPI-Reviewer Web is now able to authenticate users via their Cochrane account, provided they are known to be "Cochrane Authors" or hold a higher-level role in Cochrane. This in turn allows users to access the Cochrane-specific licensing benefits in EPPI-Reviewer. They cover:
- Working on Cochrane reviews (access control is controlled by review authorship state as defined in Archie).
- Working on private (not shared) reviews.
- Working on "Prospective" Cochrane reviews (preliminary work, before registering a review in Archie). To gain access to this option please get in touch with EPPI-Support.
We have been acutely aware that Cochrane users of EPPI-Reviewer have been locked on the Silverlight interface until today. Knowing that Cochrane was going to change their authentication systems, we produced the current update while addressing both interfaces so to provide access also via EPPI-Reviewer Web. When using the Cochrane authentication and licensing, users will now gain access to all features released in EPPI-Reviewer Web, as well as the Cochrane specific ones (licensing and controlling the the Check-in status for Cochrane reviews).
Update
The Silverlight interface of EPPI-Reviewer was also updated, in order to make sure it would keep working against the new Cochrane Authentication system, which went live earlier this morning.
