Hi everyone,

I keep getting an error message that the server has timed out when I try to permanently delete a source. At the bottom of the message it says Error Number:-2,State:0,Class:11. I am not a programmer and I don't know what this means or how to fix it.

I can't proceed with my review until I can delete this source.

Hello Hanna,

apologies for the inconvenience. There is a known problem with deleting sources (forever), the process is unreasonably slow and we've never found a way to resolve it. (Also: error messages are cryptic because they are meant for us - the EPPI-Support people, in the end.)
To move forward, you can try three things:

1. You may want to try deleting the source forever during low activity times, these would be in the evening (UK time) or during the week end. I assume this is your least favourite option.
2. You can simply ignore the deleted source. It won't cause you any harm, the references therein will be simply counted as deleted and won't pollute any list. Only way to reach those references would be to specifically ask for the list of references in the unwanted source. [I don't know why you say "I can't proceed until I delete the source" so maybe this option is precluded for reasons that currently escape me.]
3. You can let us know (via email if you prefer) the name/ID of the Review in question and the name of the unwanted source(s). We'll delete the source for you, with apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks for getting in touch and hope we'll manage to resolve this issue for you.
