I set-up a mini test review with 38 entries to screen and set-up for multi screening, two people, as per the user manual. We each coded all items for inclusion and exclusion. However, when you view the stats the numbers don't seem to tally:

Rev 1 = 28
Rev 2 = 30
Rev 1 and Rev 2 = 20
Rev 1 vs Rev 2: 7/20 agreements; 13/20 disagreements

This implies that we both screened only 20 of the 38 citations whereas we're both pretty confident that we screened all 38. Have we missed something?

Hello Louise,

There are a few things that may cause it to appear this way.

For your particular review, if you look on the Review statiistics tab (on the right side of the screen) you will be able to see the number of items each reviewer has coded. It appears that 30 items have been coded by each reviewer at this point. This does not mean it is the same 30 items so depending on the overlap it is possible that only 20 items have been double coded. And it is possible that depending on the overlap all 38 items have been coded.

I would recommend setting up a work assignment for the two coders so you can be sure that both coders are working on the same items and that when you run a comparison you will also be comparing the items that were coded by both.

The system also shows a number of items as being complete. Is it possible some of the coding was done while the codeset was set for single data entry?. In that case an item would have been coded and marked as complete automatically. If the codeset was then changed to mutliple coding then more coding was carried out some items would be complete while others would be incomplete. In this scenario it is possible that all 38 items have been coded but only 20 items double coded as they would have appeared to be complete already.

Best regards,

Jeff Brunton

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for your previous reply re. activitating my account.

Could you please explain how with a sharable account, I can invite my co-reviewer into the account?

Thanks very much,

Katelyn

Hello Katelyn,

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking but this message will come up if you are trying to invite a user into your review and the email that you have entered does not yet exist in EPPI-Reviewer. Are you sure that the person with the email address you have used has created a user account? They will need to create an account before you can invite them in.

Best regards,

Jeff
