The Unit has one room reserved for meetings/seminars (G1, 18WS), one desk reserved for students (302, 10WS) and a workstation with DTP software (G2, 18WS).

A laptop, projector and overhead projector are also available via the Unit administrators.

There is a post and stationery resource room on the ground floor of 18WS available to all SSRU staff. It includes:

  • Staff pigeon holes
  • Out-going post tray
  • Unit fax machine
  • Binding machine
  • Laminating machine
  • Stationery cupboard

The photocopy room on the ground floor of 10 WS contains:

  • a networked colour printer
  • a photocopier

A basement room in 18WS is currently allocated for the use of visiting academics.

The seminar/ meeting room in 18WS also contains notice boards of current events and is used as a library for journals to which the Unit subscribes. This room is available on a first-come basis and can be booked either via the Unit Administrative Officer or using Outlook Calendar (procedures on how to set this up can be found here). All SSRU room bookings are available to view and book via staff members’ Outlook calendar (Set-up information found here). Staff wishing to book rooms should check availability before contacting the Unit Administrative Officer.

All staff using communal rooms should ensure they are left clean and tidy, ready for others to use.
