All staff should be provided with a key to their office for which they are responsible. Spare keys should not be given to staff but are the responsibility of the Unit Administrative Officer.

Admin procedures (including for archive room) are available via the Unit Administrative Officer.

All staff members are allocated a key to their office on induction. The Unit Administrative Officer maintains a key inventory, and holds a spare key to all offices. There is a charge for lost keys. On no account should keys be cut by members of staff or shared with others not in their offices.

Spare keys to rooms in 10WS are currently held by the EPPI Administrators.

Spare keys should not be kept by members of staff but should be returned to the Unit Administrative Officer immediately – otherwise spares go missing and the Unit Administrative Officer is left without a spare.

If staff need to borrow a key to their office they should speak to the Unit Administrative Officer. Staff may have to pay for the replacement of lost keys.

If staff need access to a shared printer in a locked room, they should make arrangements with the Unit Administrative Officer to ensure they have access as necessary.

Staff wishing to access the bike shed at the front of the building should borrow the key which is held by the Unit Administrative Officer.
