IoE arranges couriers through the Supplies Officer in the Purchasing Department.

To use couriers where necessary with approval of Project Directors.

The Unit usually use independent couriers with whom we have an account.

Internal procedures are available via the Unit Administrative Officer. 

Staff should consider whether it is more appropriate to use special mail services or a courier (based on timing and costs).

Staff needing a courier should speak to the Unit Administrative Officer, giving as much notice as possible.

Even if your document is not yet ready to send, consider whether you might need to book a courier in advance.

Make sure you give the administrator the following information:

  • the budget code
  • the address of the recipient
  • the time by which the package must arrive
